World Hepatitis Day
Campaign Description
On July 28, VA joins people across the world taking part in World Hepatitis Day to increase awareness about viral hepatitis and the diseases it causes. Please join us and support the global campaign to eliminate hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.
World Hepatitis Day is recognized on the birthday of Dr. Baruch Blumberg (July 28, 1925-April 5, 2011) who discovered the hepatitis B virus and developed the first hepatitis B vaccine. Viral hepatitis is a major global health threat with around 257 million people living with chronic hepatitis B and 71 million people living with chronic hepatitis C worldwide.
